Free visual inspection and a written scope of work before any mitigation begins - photos, moisture readings, and drying logs go in your claim file
The scope we write is the scope we bill. Anything new gets shown to you, in writing, before we touch it.
Meet the Manhattan Beach Team Behind DryMark Restoration Manhattan Beach
We’re the crew that shows up when water’s still moving through your walls or mold’s turned a closet into a hazard zone. Every person on this page has been background-checked, licensed, and verified before they ever pulled into a Manhattan Beach driveway. What ties us together isn’t a handbook - it’s The Haven Standard, and the fact that each of us has seen what happens when restoration work skips the documentation step that makes or breaks an insurance claim.
Our People
Alicia Brennan, Owner
I started DryMark Restoration in 2011 after six years as a claims adjuster, watching homeowners lose tens of thousands on legitimate water damage claims because the restoration company never produced a photo record or a drying log with psychrometric data - the temperature, relative humidity, and vapor pressure differential readings that prove a structure was actually returned to pre-loss condition. I built this company around that gap. I still review every written scope before it goes to a customer, and I personally sign the 365-Day Done Right Promise on every job. When I’m not on a site check in the Sand Section or checking moisture readings in a Rosecrans Avenue commercial unit, I’m usually on the phone with an adjuster who needs the documentation we deliver as standard, not as an upsell.
Marcus T., Lead Water Damage Technician
Marcus has been running mitigation crews for nine years, and he’s the person who decides whether your subfloor needs a full removal or if we can hit target moisture content with a combination of Dri-Eaz Revolution dehumidifiers and Injectidry hardwood floor drying panels. He’s IICRC-certified in Water Damage Restoration (WRT) and Applied Structural Drying (ASD), which means he can calculate exactly how many air changes per hour we need to maintain in a contained drying chamber. He grew up in Hawthorne and still surfs El Porto before dawn patrol when he’s not extracting sewage backup from a Manhattan Beach walk street basement. Marcus is the one who trains every apprentice on how to read a moisture meter properly - he has zero patience for guessing.
Elena R., Senior Mold Remediation Installer
Elena handles containment build-outs and negative air machine placement on mold jobs from the Hill Section down to the El Porto sand dunes, and she’s certified through the IICRC in Mold Remediation (AMRT). She came to us from a commercial abatement background, so she’s particularly sharp on multi-unit jobs where cross-contamination between adjacent units is the real risk. Her specialty is tertiary drying - the final phase where most crews pack up too early and leave trapped moisture that blooms into secondary mold six weeks later. Elena keeps a collection of vintage beach cruiser bikes in her garage in North Redondo and can tell you exactly which streets in Manhattan Beach still have the original clay sewer lines that back up during heavy winter storms.
David K., Service Coordinator
David answers the phones that ring at 2 a.m. when a water heater fails on 35th Street, and he’s the person who dispatches the crew, notifies your insurance carrier if you’ve already opened a claim, and starts the photo documentation folder before anyone leaves our shop. He’s been with us since 2019 and has personally coordinated over 3,000 emergency responses. David’s the one who explains to callers that yes, we do deliver a written price before work starts - Haven Standard, Clause 1 - and no, we don’t do verbal ballpark figures that change once the crew is inside your house. He lives in Hermosa Beach, plays in a local jazz quartet, and has an almost photographic memory for which adjusters prefer daily moisture logs emailed versus uploaded to their portal.
Javier M., Restoration Apprentice
Javier joined us in 2023 after completing a construction technology program at El Camino College, and he’s working through his IICRC certifications while rotating through every phase of our work - water extraction, demo, containment setup, and reconstruction cleanup. Right now he’s shadowing Marcus on water losses and Elena on mold jobs, learning to document vapor pressure differentials with a thermo-hygrometer and to spot the telltale darkening at drywall seams that indicates wicking from a slab leak. Javier was born in Inglewood and still lives there with his grandmother; he’s the one who notices when a customer’s baseboards have been painted over three times, which usually means there’s been moisture intrusion before and nobody addressed the source.
One Standard, Every Job

The Haven Standard travels with us whether we’re working a single-family home on John Street or a multi-unit complex on Highland Avenue. Every technician on this page arrives in a marked vehicle, in uniform, with their license number visible. Every job gets the same deliverables: a written price before work starts, a photo record on every visit, daily moisture logs with psychrometric data, and a signed 365-Day Done Right Promise. We’re independently owned and operated - not a franchise, not a satellite office taking orders from somewhere else. Alicia Brennan signs off on every scope personally, and if you bring us a competitor’s written estimate, we’ll review it for free and show you exactly what documentation gaps could cost you at claim time. That’s Haven Standard, Clause 1 through Clause 7, and it’s how we’ve restored over 12,000 homes since 2011 without ever starting a job on a handshake.
